Improvements Samsung Needs to Make in 2021

One company that has experimented a lot with its Android devices and still stands at a great position in the market is Samsung. This year was a huge success for the company as it released its top-tier flagship phones, including Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series. Not only this, but it entered into the foldable market and launched Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold 2. However, Galaxy S20 FE is the icing on the cake.

Glass Durability for Foldable Phones

You must have heard about Samsung discontinuing the Galaxy Note family multiple times. However, it didn’t happen that way,it seems like the company is pretty sure about doing the same in 2021.

An S Pen support across devices will be replacing the Note, and the idea is quite exciting. If Samsung is looking forward to introducing the S Pen support, they should find a way to improve the toughness of its UltraThin Glass.

The Z Fold 2 uses an improved plastic screen from the original Galaxy Fold; however, the durability still needs to be improved. Samsung started installing a screen protector to keep its screen from scratches or dent, but it worsened the touch-experience.

It is essential to mention that if Samsung is planning to include an S Pen along with the Z Fold 3, it needs to improve its UTG.

Come Up with a Competitor of a True Pixel 4a

Samsung’s one of the most awaited phones in 2020 was the Galaxy S20 FE. It offered the same experience as the Galaxy S20 at a much lower price. However, a $700 phone is still not a low-cost phone that many people were looking forward to get but couldn’t.

The market was highly dominated by cheaper phones, including the Pixel 4a and Moto G Power this year. Therefore, Samsung must come up with a phone in 2021 that gives a tough competition to others.

Prime Focus on Sustainability

If you’re a follower of Apple and Google, you must have noticed that the two companies made a great push towards sustainability. For instance, many components of the iPhone 12 are made of recycled earth elements. On the other hand, Google’s Nest Audio smart speaker is made from recycled bottles.

Undoubtedly, Samsung has made efforts to make its products more sustainable, but it has still not reached the level of its competitors. Thus, there is a lot more the company can do to increase the sustainability of its devices, and it is expected that Samsung will make an effort towards the same in 2021.

No More Curved Display

All the new phones introduced by Samsung in 2020 had curved displays, including the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. These curves were unliked by the majority of the people and it is expected that the company comes up with devices featuring flat screens in the future.

There are rumors about Galaxy S21 returning with the flat edges. Not only this, but it is expected that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 2 will stick to the flat edges just as their previous models.

A Chromebook Under $1000

Chromebook Plus V2 was a device introduced by Samsung two years back. It was one of the best Chromebooks of the time with a high-quality display, speedy performance, and more at just $499.

However, the company did not launch any other Chromebook after that until this year when Samsung flaunted its $1000 Galaxy Chromebook. Notably, the sale of Chromebooks increased in 2020 because of being an amazing alternative to Windows and Mac, but everyone’s looking forward to an affordable version in 2021.

Three Year Updates for All Other Phones

While Samsung launched its Note 20, it also promised a three-year update for many phones and tablets. However, you’ll also notice many phones missing from the list of getting these updates, including the Galaxy M and Galaxy F phones.

Samsung bringing updates to its phones is a huge thing, but only if you buy a mid or high-tier phone. Therefore, the company must extend the update system to its low-cost Galaxy phones as well.

These are the expected improvements that the company might bring after listening to its users. However, there’s still no official word about the same. So, are you excited to see what Samsung has got to offer in the new year?
