The ‘Mi Gente’ star has talked about his mental health issues in the latest Becky G podcast. Balvin talked to Becky G about his mental health issues and suicidal thoughts with which he suffered when he was younger.

One of the shocking things he revealed in the interview was that his battle with depression was so gruesome that he was almost pushed towards death.

The Reggaeton star appeared in the podcast “En La Sala Amazon Music” hosted by Becky G and revealed that he suffered due to his mental illness and was pushed to the point where he only wanted to die. He remembered the moment when he had reached the deepest point of the sickness.

Balvin revealed that he knew he had reached the endpoint when he did not want to do anything. He said that he always used to just cry for no reason. He had no desire to wake up, eat, or even live.

Balvin elaborated about his sickness and said that there came the point when he became so hopeless that he just felt strange wherever he went, and there were moments he felt that he was outside of his body. Balvin explained that he always had this problem of shaking since the time he was a child, and it was not until he became an adult that he realized that it was anxiety.

However, the biggest problem was the fact that he was not able to ask for help because he thought everyone would think that he was just “crazy.”

He remembered himself being in bed for five days with a desire to just disappear from this world. Of course, it is never easy to just disappear; you have to put yourself under extreme pain, which he, like most of the suicidal patients, didn’t want to. He was not even famous at that time, and his family became devastated because of his condition.

J. Balvin revealed that he had given up on his career despite the fact that he was a lover of music.

There is a happy ending in this story. The star of the song, Mi Gente, finally went to see the doctor and took some tablets, which did help him. He now hopes that families will take inspiration from his story, and the whole world will finally move on from the stigma surrounding mental health problems.

He shared that he talks to his kids a lot of the time and advises them not to believe everything they see on Instagram. He also addressed the people going through the same negative emotion. He also advised them not to open the Instagram feed during their hard time.

Balvin then went on to say that we should never compare ourselves to anyone, and he always tells his kids to never be afraid of their identity. Everyone should be proud of who they are and every aspect of their personality, including their color, political opinions, ethnicity, sexuality, and career.

Recently Google Camera 8.1 was rolled out for the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5, which now has an added ‘Storage Saver’ mode. This new feature can be found under the recently introduced ‘Storage’ section. The ‘Storage Saver’ mode was set to be originally released with the Google Camera 8.0 but was then announced to be released later on. The ‘Storage Saver’ mode was set to be debuted as ‘Low Storage Mode’ in Google Camera 8.0, but the idea was then rejected; however, it can finally be seen in version 8.1, but with a different name.

According to Artem Russakovskii of Android Police and Mishaal Rahman of XDA, this new feature can be seen in the Pixel 4XL and Pixel 5, both with Google Camera 8.1. However, there are a lot of social media users who have claimed it to be present on the Pixel 2XL too. Still, we cannot clarify if the feature is present on Pixel 2XL or not.

XDA’s Mishaal Rahman on his Twitter handle @MishaalRahman has stated that recently two Pixel 5 owners claimed that the ‘storage’ section and a ‘low storage mode’ were not present on their devices. He said that it is clearly mentioned on the Google support page that both the options will be there on the Google Camera app of the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5.

The Storage Saver mode of Google minimizes the file size of images and videos to let the individuals store more media on their devices. No doubt, minimizing the size of the files will lead to reduced quality images and videos. This thing is clearly mentioned on the Google support pages, and also, the company has warned individuals about that.

Google claims that currently, the ‘Storage Saver’ mode will only be available for the Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5; however, Russakovskii’s post didn’t relate to this fact.

It seems like this feature is now available on the complete Pixel lineup, and now let us see if the company’s website gets updated or the support gets withdrawn from the previously launched devices. If you are a Pixel owner, you need to download the Google Camera 8.1 to check the new features for your device.

So, this was all about “Storage Saver” – the recently launched feature for Google Camera 8.1.
